2.9 million people die in Africa each year....

...This is equal to the entire population in the state of IOWA!

We've all heard, "Put your money where your mouth is." Well, here at PROMISE kennels, we're going to do exactly that. ALL proceeds (after expenses) of an upcoming litter will be going to a faith-based humanitarian organization called DREAM FOR AFRICA.

Dream for Africa is a movement that provides hope and real solutions to the issues plaguing Africa. Dream Givers are people just like you and me who step out of their world for 10 days to three months to do something with lasting significance.

Dream for Africa is a faith-based humanitarian movement that mobilizes volunteers from various nations to achieve enduring solutions in sub-Sahara Africa related to hunger and food security, orphans and vulnerable children, poverty alleviation, and AIDS prevention.

Ronnie will be going with a team from FRESNO/CLOVIS California to help plant gardens for the people in South Africa. Ronnie will plant 100 gardens while he is there. The Dream for Africa goal for the Never Ending Garden Initiative is that by the end of three years of service in an area - no one will have to go to bed hungry again. Now, isn't that worth some of our time, effort and money?

Click on the "Dream For Africa" logo to go to the website to learn more. This isn't just sending food. This is teaching them how to grow the food to feed themselves. You've heard this idea. It is an old Chinese proverb. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Not going to bed hungry. That would mean the world for some children in Africa. Help us give them the world - Let's stop starvation in Africa.

Some people have told us to NOT put this information on our website. They told us it would be bad for "business". Well, that's okay. If seeing this and learning about people who are a whole lot less fortunate than we are makes you "uncomfortable", well I say GOOD!!! It SHOULD make you feel that way! And if you don't want to buy a puppy from us because WE want to make a difference in the lives of other people, then, you know what? GLAD WE FOUND OUT NOW!

If you are excited about helping us in this way, then you ARE as good a person as your dog thinks you are!  ;-)

Hi everyone. we made it to Africa. It is so beautiful here. I love the people I have met, And i can not wait to go back into the community on Monday. We are going to church tomorrow to worship with one of our team leaders from here, and every church and community is sending representatives to worship with us. I wish I could tell you just how much of a blessing this is. Jenny if you could remember Mexico the first year you might be able to get some idea but times that by 10. The children will break your heart. they have nothing but they always are smiling and laughing. On one of our teams one lady was saying the children were scared of her at first because they had never seen a white person before. We cant wait to see how God is going to work though us but if I get another chance to write I will tell you more later. I dont have a lot of time on here so I will cut this letter short. Please continue to pray for us. I love you all very much. God bless you.....
